Reef Damage
(December 15,2002)

On Sunday December 15th we went out to continue monitoring the coral
restoration project. We were happy to observe that the valuable work was
continuing despite the chilly conditions. In response to the email from
Tim
Blankenship, regarding your progress, we thought we would help out by
marking the dredge teeth in Site 3. We placed numbered orange tags
inside
each tooth. We ran out of tags at 50. We counted an additional 25 teeth
50ft to the west. We also observed 20 corals still needing attention.
Industrial Divers came to the worksite as we were leaving.
At the pillar coral site (site 8)  most of the pieces
were stabilized (2 were missing). There  is 1 other hard
coral loose on the reef and some small pieces of pillar coral. Are these
corals too small to attach ? We turned them over and tagged them.
Industrial Divers were also working a few hundred feet from this site.
