On 04/13/03, Vone Research continued it's monitoring of the coral restoration project. We first dove site #27. This site was first visited on 12/16/02 by divers hired by Hillsboro Inlet district or CSI. It was determined that the site had 'cable injury and would be mapped and would have restoration activities'. On 3/01/03 and then again on 03/23/03 , we reported that little work had been done here . The only thing that has changed is the amount of soft corals that still can be saved. There are hard corals still upside down and dying. Nothing has been stablized . We have offered our help and it has been refused. We tried to pull our own permits to do repair work in the enforcement area. These too were refused. We will continue to document everything we find in the hopes that someone will care. Next we searched for the area reported by Captain Schmidt to no avail. Frank is now back in town and was able to find the area.
